I’m soooo excited I found your blog online! I registered the beginning of the week for the audition in LA. I have six weeks to prepare and I’m scared that isn’t enough time. Also, after reviewing episodes of “The Voice,” I’m nervous that I’m not “original” or unique. I’m a great worship leader, but how do you transfer this talent to a casting show audience? I possess more of a gospel, blues, church sound than anything else. Do I attempt to sing a song they’ve more than likely never heard, or attempt Norah Jones or Bonnie Raitt? What about Disney classics or musical broadway hits? Thanks in advice for your amazing advice!!! I truly appreciate your time and talent!

My husband and I are going to Chicago on our weekend honeymoon and I’m going to audition for the voice while we are there. Is he allowed to go with me and stand in line prior to my going in for my audition? I was able to bring a friend or family member when auditioning for AI but didn’t know if it would be the same for The Voice.

Good on you! One of my students (of several who auditioned this week) had the best attitude about this. She said, “even if I don’t get selected, every time I do one of these things I become a better singer, so I’m doing it!”…..AMEN!
